A Maryland Department of Agriculture Approved Initial Certification Course

This Service Technician Training Program can be used to satisfy the requirements for individuals seeking certification in the safety/general knowledge category of pest control (CORE), ornamental plants and shade trees- exterior category (3A), general pest control category (7A), wood destroying insect category (7B), and the rodent control category (7D).

Successful completion of this courses with a grade of 70%, or higher, is accepted as the equivalent of six months of practical experience for individuals’ seeking certification.

Completion of the training program will satisfy the initial requirements for an individual to take the certification examinations for obtaining their Pest Control Applicator certificate. If an individual wants to be certified in either or all categories 3A, 7A, 7B, and 7D they will need to take the Service Technician Training Program.
